Summer Options for Plays

Footloose – The Musical (June 3 and 4 at 7 p.m. and June 10 and 11 at 7 p.m. as part of Stapleton’s ongoing Theatre on the Green series on the lawn at Founder’s Green.
Like the 1984 Kevin Bacon film that inspired it, Footloose follows the story of Ren (Benjy Schirm), who moves with his mother (LuAnn Buckstein) to a small town where dancing is prohibited by law. Teens will be teens, of course, so Ren ends up at odds with the town and especially the local minister, Reverend Moore (Robert Michael Sanders). Along the way, the characters sing familiar songs from the movie ("The Girl Gets Around," "Holding Out for a Hero," "Let's Hear It for the Boy," "Almost Paradise," and of course the title tune), but the new songs are enjoyable as well.
Admission is FREE to the general public. So kick off your Sunday shoes and get ready to have some rockin’ good fun! Pack a picnic, grab the kids and a blanket and head on over to Stapleton’s outdoor theatre and get foot loose! Located at 29th and Quebec on the Green. No reservations necessary.
