Intro to Film Acting Class at the Bug Theatre

From our friend Patrick Sheridan. Contact him for info! Thanks all!

--------------------------------------------------

This Saturday, we're holding the next Intro to Film Acting Class at the Bug Theatre. It's an intensive one-day workshop that gets actors to understand the first goal of film acting is to make an emotional connection to their scene partner. We use clips from some well-known movies to show how the pros do it. From there, we show how actors can surrender to their environment and finally connect to the words on the page. It's all part of showing actors the difference between film acting, acting in commercials, and acting on stage.

The workshop also covers how to deliver a great film monologue, how to excel at the dreaded ‘cold read,’ and how to deliver a great performance during an audition. We practice how 'less is more' on film, and how actors can easily gain comfort and control with the silence and space of 'being in the moment.'

October 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Class costs $95 and is at The Bug Theatre (3654 Navajo St., Denver).

Thanks,
Patrick Sheridan
