Student Film: The push

Lets try this out.

I've been looking for a good way to present student films to people . Would love feedback on this this idea, either e-mail me comments or critiques.

My name is Mark Higgins and I am a full time film student at the Colorado Film School. We are in the process of looking for professional actors for a student film shoot. Before any worries arise just know that the Colorado Film School is rated one of the top film schools in the nation by the International Cinematographers Guild and our films have been featured in Film Festivals all over the nation so by no means should you worry about our professionalism. We are dedicated and firmly believe that the only thing keeping the film that me and my associates are making from being a renowned short film is decent talent.

We are looking for 5 actors to star in our film Pushed. It's a military thriller that takes place in the cold war in which 2 men are in charge of pressing the kill switch that will launch nuclear war against the Soviets, and it's up to these two men to wrestle with the task of sending millions to their deaths, but the question remains; can they actually go through with it if told to? Here are the main characters.

Mouse: A handsome young captain in the marines who is kidnapped by the military and whose family is threatened into accepting the job of making sure the kill switch is pushed if ordered to. He's the main character, brave but vulnerable and willing to do anything if it keeps his family safe. Age: 20s to early 30s.

Church: a lifelong military man who takes pride in his job of being the man who can send the commies to hell. He feels deeply but hides it very well. He has the best character arc in the script and is the secondary main character with equal screen time to Mouse. Age: 40s.

Agent: He's the puppet master. The man who forced Mouse into this situation. The actor will be silhouetted, mysterious and needs a powerful voice to instill the dire situation that Mouse is in. A small but commanding part. preferable overweight age: Late 40s to 50s.

The Scientists: 2 doctors in charge of the sometimes sadistic medical experiments during the Cold war. Needs a good presence Male of female Ages: 30-40.

Our budget is changing and we are currently looking for grants and loans right now. We can't give you a definite budget but we are holding auditions at the Lobby of the Colorado Film School. Address: 9075 E Lowry Blvd, Bldg. 965 Denver, CO 80230. It takes place from 11 to 4 Friday the 15th. Walk ins welcome. You don't need preparation, we will audition actors based on ability to take direction, fearlessness and ability to get the depth of the character.
